The business exists because this coast is hard on hard surfaces. Eleven hundred millimetres of rain a year, most of it in the dark months, leaves every slab in the city wet, mossy and slick for most of the year. Poured rubber is the fix that does not need the slab torn out.

The mix is made on site from rubber granules and a polyurethane binder, and there are two of each. EPDM granules are virgin rubber, coloured all the way through and stable in sunlight, so they form the visible top layer and give the colour. SBR granules are recycled tire rubber, black and cheaper, so they form the cushion base under a playground or the whole floor of a garage or gym.
The binder is aromatic or aliphatic. Aromatic is fine under dark blends. Aliphatic costs more and does not amber, so it goes under the pale colours that face the sun. The quote names which one you are getting.
